We are currently looking for a Bilingual Warranty Parts Return Center Specialist (Contract) at our Corporate Offices in Ajax, ON

In this critical warranty role, reporting to the Warranty Parts Return Center Supervisor, you will be responsible for all tasks associated with analysis, review, adjusting, and payment of warranty claims involving Volkswagen and Audi automotive parts. You will work collaboratively with the Warranty Parts Return Center (WPRC) team, product support, quality engineers, suppliers, factories, and technical quality managers to manage the parts logistics flow and provide guidance on the Parts Request Process, warranty systems, and warranty parts claim coding to corporate employees, field employees, and dealer personnel.

You are fluently bilingual in English and French, detail-oriented, customer focused and comfortable working within a warehouse setting working with automotive parts and operating a forklift. You enjoy working within a team setting while balancing physical and administrative work.

Primary Responsibilities:
Process and analyze failed parts to ensure all criteria for warranty authorization has been met, using various test instruments and diagnostic equipment
Use technical expertise to pre-analyze failed parts by determining the manufacturing defect and identifying any damage resulting from outside influences
Apply technical and warranty expertise to make decisions on approvals, rejections, or charge-backs for warranty claims and communicate decisions back to dealer
Review and adjust “Parts Request” claims, recording within the warranty database the detailed reasons for rejection or adjustment; communicate errors identified and follow-up to obtain additional documents from dealers during the parts and claim review
Create shipping or disposition lists for all parts analyzed
Ensure denied parts are properly stored while waiting for dealer to appeal or accept decision on claim payment
Respond to general inquiries and warranty appeal decisions through phone and email
Prepare Warranty Part Return Center for factory audits
Assist in conducting Warranty Training Classes related to Claim Processing and Parts Request


What we’re asking for:
High School Diploma or vocational/mechanical training
A positive attitude and proven ability to be an effective team player with strong organizational skills
1-3 years related automotive, customer service, or warranty administration experience; warehouse experience required; forklift license preferred
Fluency in French and English required with ability to effectively communication and present decisions in a fair and impartial manner
Strong analytical and customer service skills
Proficient computer skills; familiarity and experience with different hand-held testers (e.g. Volt and ohms meters, multi-meters, and diagnostic equipment)
Working knowledge of retail after sales processes and systems and knowledge of digital photography
