We are currently seeking hard working, enthusiastic, professional Bilingual Debt Counsellor/ Collections Officer (NOC 6235 Category B) at our Toronto, ON Headquarter.

The Collections Officer will provide debt recovery services for a variety of large clients. This involves contacting consumers via the telephone to update accounts, negotiate settlements of loans and credit card balances, process payment, answer consumer inquiries and provide necessary account related information, and to comply with all regulatory and company policies at all times.

Responsibilities:

Make contact with consumers via the telephone to arrange payments for past due accounts
Handles each call as per call model but alters as call requires to ensure successful completion of the interaction
Complete initial trace work using online tools and account systems
Verify consumer information
Follow set regulations and guidelines set by provincial, federal and client specific directives
Professionally and respectfully negotiate with consumer and explore money sources to determine best possible arrangement
Maximize revenue and achieve set goals and objectives
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Fluent in English and French
Willingness to learn
Professional, tactful and empathetic
Strong typing skills
Call Center experience is an asset
